Daniel Carter - a Galactic Weblog
Welcome to the OGW Blog of Daniel Carter
I am Daniel, the lead programmer, aod software tech support at OGW.
Born: 7.23.1982 - St. Louis, MO

Riding my scooter in St. Louis. My high school years - fun times!
I lived for riding, programming, multiplayer games, my friends, and of course, my girlfriend. Oh yeah, I did enjoy camping out. I don't do that much anymore. But back then, my family and I camped out often. And sometimes me and my friends, too, once I was reached about age 17.
"Is an atom bomb going off in the city, Dan?"
That's the sun coming up, Jo Blo." This is an "artistic" black and white web page. (such a sock-dummy)

Biker Dan - That's me on my roadtrip out to Stanford in '00. I got my degree in Computer Science. I guess I wasn't the average student. I just love bikes and programming in C++! Science fiction and online games, too (of course).

Brenda. I knew Brenda back at Stanford. She wasn't really my girlfriend. She was my computer science "best buddy." We used to spend hour after hour at this one coffee shop in Palo Alto, writing code, and, well, doing some hacking here and there (just for learning purposes, of course!).
Brenda has her own software company now: Zestysoft.com. hahaha It sounds like ice cream. I miss those days spent knee deep in code, with our laptops and lattés. Hey, that's good. Rob we should open a coffee house here in the Skyball with that name.
"I like it. It's catchy."
"How about 'lapdance and lattés?' That's even more catchy!!!"
"Yeah, right JoJo, we'd get rich just from your patronage alone. Until Samantha shot you dead. We know she has a license for a concealed handgun."
"Yes, she do. And BTW, Mr. Wormhole Programmer, do Susan and ummmm, oh yeah, Sylvia know about Brenda?"
"Yes, Jo, I do know all about Brenda. Dan told me about her. I've seen her website, too........ Who's Sylvia?"
"Uh, well Sylvia is just a friend of mine, from Brazil, Susan. I met her when I was working down there on a design project a couple of years ago. It's no big deal, really.
(JoJo you are one dead sock monkey!!!)
"HAHAHAHA"

My great pad in the OGW east tower. I've lived here for almost 5 years now. I love my place.
The rent is a little steep, but it's totally worth it. OGW tower apartments are the best in Lubbock, IMHO.
"I love your place, too, Dan. Remember that New Year's Eve party two years ago? That was too cool. Even the cops started enjoying themselves, after they managed to get JoJo handcuffed and into the police cruiser."
"Ha Ha, very funny, Susan. It was all a big misunderstanding and you know it. That girl assured me she was 22!"
"So true, but how funny was it when her father showed, and opened a big can of whup-ass on your sock-head!"
"Uhhh, not very, and nothing happened at all. She was just trying to upset her father anyway."
"It really worked so well!"

My hours are too long (like 22 / 7 as you know from other website pages - LOL!) to have a pet.
So in my spare time, I enjoy floral arranging, especially the Japanese version, Ikebana.
"Dude, you are actually admitting this on the world-wide web!"
I am indeed. Coder, biker, floral arranger. That's me.
"All round weird guy."
"But he's OUR resident coder, biker, floral arranger, and character, JoJo."
"Oh sure, Allison, and who pulled your string, anyway? Run out of apples to balance on your head?"

A picture from 20 years ago or so. Riding on a bike trail with my mom and pop. I don't have that many pictures of them."
This is one of my favorite pictures of us. Biking and motorcycles are in our blood - Me, Mom and Pop. They live out in Seattle now. Pop works for Microsoft (who else). He's going to retire next year, though. They will probably hit the road on a big motorcycle trip. Been planning it for years. They toured from St. Louis to the east coast ages ago, but this will be a real cross-country tour.

My last trip to the big city. What a blast!
